Why we are building it

A score should mean the same thing everywhere.

Fan experience research only helps a team when a score means the same thing from one game to the next. Two people can stand in the same concourse and score it very differently. We want to train evaluators on one method, so a score from one venue can be read next to a score from another.

It also lets schools train their own people without waiting on us to be in every building.

Who it is for

Built for the people closest to the game.

University students

Build real research and sports business experience, and leave with a credential you can show.

Athletic department staff

Train your own evaluators so your game day feedback is collected the same way every time.

Independent researchers

Evaluate events on your own and get trained on the same method our evaluators use.

How it works

Four steps from training to game day.

Four steps, from your first module to game day.

01
Train

Short modules on the FanFlow method, accurate scoring, and research ethics.

02
Practice

Scenario exercises scored against reference examples, so you can see how close you are.

03
Certify

Pass the practice scoring and the final exam to earn your certificate.

04
Evaluate

Certified evaluators take on game day assignments arranged by their school or FanFlow.

The credential

A FanFlow Certified Evaluator credential.

Evaluators who finish the program receive a FanFlow Certified Evaluator credential. Each one has a unique number, and a public page where anyone can confirm it is valid. It can be printed or saved as a PDF.

Please note. FanFlow Certified Evaluator is a training credential issued by FanFlow. It is not an externally accredited certification, and it does not make someone a FanFlow employee. Pay and game day access are arranged by each school or organization.
How we keep the research honest

Clear labels, separate data.

Evidence first

Evaluators score what they see and back each score with what they observed.

Labeled clearly

Evaluations by school trained evaluators and by independent FanFlow evaluators will be labeled separately and never blended into one score.

Fans stay separate

Fan feedback is reported alongside evaluator findings, not mixed into them.

Each school sees its own data

A school only sees its own evaluators and results.
